If your family is staying in a hotel in Folsom CA this summer, there are some great events going on in August to check out. You can introduce your 
kids to the world of jewelry, minerals and gemstones at the Treasure Trove of Gems or take a night to yourself at Verse on the Vine. Read below for more information on these events!
Verse on the Vine
The Poetry Box and Petra Vineyards presents “Verse on the Vine” every month in Folsom. Talented and acclaimed poets from Northern California come to The Wine Gallery to share their favorite works. You are invited to come, laugh, cry, share and feel with all of your senses. Order a glass of wine from the Petra Vineyards and enjoy art by Sutter Street artists in the gallery. Be sure to bring your own work to share, as every month there is an opportunity for open-mic poetry. On Wednesday, August 8 at 7pm, award-winning poet Lytton Bell will perform at Verse on the Vine. She has published three books, won five poetry contests and performed at many Northern California venues in the past.
Treasure Trove of Gems
The Treasure Trove of Gems will be holding a Gem, Jewelry and Mineral Show on August 11-12. Over 20 dealers and exhibitors will be selling custom gold & silver jewelry, beads, minerals, gems, petrified wood & fossils, carvings, supplies, equipment and books. Other attractions of the show include gold panning, earth sciences, kid’s activities, lapidary & jewelry making demonstrations, giveaways and displays. Visitors can enter to win a grand prize drawing for a treasure trove full of jewelry, minerals and gems. Admission to the show is $4 per day or $6 for the whole weekend. Children can get in for free under 12 years.
