Celebrate Spring on Folsom’s Historic Sutter Street
Spring has finally arrived in Folsom and what a beautiful season it is! It’s the best time of year to be outdoors and luckily there are a couple great events coming up that will allow you to be under the spring sun mingling with your friends and family while enjoying much of what Folsom has to offer. If you’re staying in hotels in Folsom, you will definitely not want to miss out on these classic local events that are sure to make you feel like one of the town’s own.
Folsom is well known for its historic Second Saturdays which run the second Saturday of every month between April and September. The event runs for the duration of the day on Saturday, April 13, 2013, and includes many various special exhibits and entertainment sure to keep you on your toes all day long! There will be a special art walk along Sutter Street, where many galleries will feature their art and certain artists as well. Many of your favorite local merchants will be offering specials and refreshments in the evening as well. Don’t forget about the awesome live entertainment throughout the day! From 6-8pm, the Rhythm Vandals will play a tribute to Santana at the outdoor amphitheater. Belly dancers will give a fun performance in the area, and the Dr. Placebo Band will also play a show on the street. This event is perfect for the whole family - balloon twisters and more will be there to entertain the children as well.
Spring Antique Fair
The 47th annual Folsom Spring Antique Fair is back and will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2013 on the historic Sutter Street. Thousands will flock to the area for this popular event which features all sorts of antique items such as glass, china, pottery, porcelain, furniture, and more! If you love antiques or are looking for a great piece of vintage decor, the Spring Antique Fair is where you should be. Four blocks will be filled with more than 250 antique and collectibles dealers and there will be tasty food and great live entertainment for all! This event doesn’t run again until September so don’t miss out on this great way to spend a spring Sunday!
