Festa 2012, October 13
Come out to the Murer House for an Italian Family-style celebration! Dinner and songs will be provided in the garden as a fundraiser for the historical site. There will be a four course dinner including antipasti, salad, bread, lasagna, chicken marsala and dessert, along with wine and coffee. Italian singer Pete Rossi and accordionist Dave Chelini will provide music for the afternoon. Enjoy food and music in the garden just as Joe and his Italian friends did for over 30 years at the Murer House. There will also be a raffle. Space is limited to 64 guests, so buy your tickets now! Tickets are $60 per person and $55 for members. Call 916-985-3250 to reserve your space. For more information on the second Festa, click here.
A Heart’s Jewel and Triumph, October 20
Don’t miss The Folsom Symphony’s opening concert! The first concert of the 2012-2013 season will feature the “heart’s jewel” of violin concertos: Mendelssohn’s Concerto in E Minor. Violinist Rebecca Corruccini, an alumna of the Sacramento Youth Symphony now playing with the Minnesota Orchestra, will guest play as a soloist. The “triumph” of the show will be Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” which commemorates Russia’s defeat of French Emperor Napoleon. Some mystery will be added to the night by the unfinished Symphony No. 8. The performance will be held at Three Stages at Folsom Lake College at 7:30pm. You can buy tickets for $20-$55 here. Scarecrows can reflect the following themes: pioneer family, farmer, railroad worker, gold miner or blacksmith. Entry forms are available at the museum for a $5 donation. Forms are due by October 14 at Pioneer Village. The corral is $2 per adult, and children under 12 are free. Call 916-985-2707 for more details. Click here to learn more about the museum!
