Musical of Musicals, January 6-February 5

Come see the Musical of Musicals! It is a hilarious satire of the field of musical theatre where one story becomes five musicals. Each musical is written in the style of a different master for the form from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Stephen Sondheim. June is a naïve young woman who can’t pay her rent and is threatened by her malicious landlord. Will the handsome male lead come to her rescue? There is a Rogers and Hammerstein version set in Kansas in August complete with a dream ballet, along with a Sondheim version featuring the landlord as a tortured artistic genius who slashes the throats of his tenants. The Jerry Herman version has a splashy star vehicle; the Andrew Lloyd Webber version is a rock musical with themes from Puccini and a Kander and Ebb version set in a speakeasy in Chicago. All audiences are sure to love this musical of all musicals!
