Spend a Day Antique Hunting!
It’s that time of the year again. Spring is in the air and along with clear skies and warm weather comes Folsom’s annual Spring Antique Fair. The event will take place on the newly renovated Sutter Street on Sunday April 21, 2013 rain or shine!
Antiquers have been traveling from far and wide for over 47 years for this annual tradition. Not a local? Many hotels in Folsom, CA offer special rates for those specifically visiting the fair. The event features four blocks filled with antique shopping and collectibles that have a requirement of being at least 20 years old. With this requirement in place, shoppers can be at ease knowing they are not purchasing new merchandise. With such a wide selection of antiques, who knows what sort of rare gems you could find!
Not only will shoppers have the opportunity to purchase antiques, they will also have the opportunity to have their antiques appraised. Have some antiques but have no idea how much they are worth? Bring them down to the 800 block of Sutter Street where Gary Cox aka “The Antiques Answers Man” can appraise one item for $7 or three items for $20.
Of course, the fair would not be complete without some entertainment! Local musicians Proxy, a cover band who plays hits from the 60s through today, will be performing from 11:30 to 2:30 at the Historic Folsom Amphitheater. Bolivian master flutist Oscar Reynolds, whose musical style is a mixture between Bolivian, Afro-Andean, and Flamenco, will be performing all day by the Sutter St. Steakhouse. Delicious food and drinks will be available at restaurants, coffee houses, and wine bars all throughout the fair.
Thousands of shoppers will fill the streets for this event, so be sure to arrive early with your flashlight! To visit the event website, click here.
